You are welcome to arrive and land on the property. We take time to get acquainted quietly, explore the place and go over the week together. In the evening, we have dinner together and conclude in a relaxed manner.

5 days of sculpting (Sunday 9 to Thursday 13 August)
From Sunday 9 to Thursday 13 August 2026, we will organise a creative summer week in the hills of the Morvan, France, at Refuge Dryade-Orée. During this five-day sculpting workshop, you will work with a small axe on wooden logs and learn to give shape, find rhythm and trust your own hand and eye. Everyone is welcome - experience is not necessary, curiosity is.
Besides sculpting, there is plenty of space to relax and explore the surroundings. Think hiking, swimming in clear lakes, visiting picturesque places, or just enjoying sunshine and peace and quiet. (See also: activities page.)
Programme
Each morning you will work on your own piece of wood. You will learn basic principles, technique and safety, and above all: watching, feeling and trusting your own process. We build up the days slowly, paying attention to your pace.

20:30 - closing by the fire (stories, silence, themes, conversations)
After the hot lunch, there is eigetime. Walking, swimming, reading, visiting a village, or just not having to do anything. There is room for rest and adventure - just as you like it.
Every day, we carefully prepare vegetarian meals: a simple breakfast, a hot cooked lunch and an evening meal. We take special diets into account whenever possible.
We end the days by the fire: stories, silence, themes, deep conversations - or just being together under the stars. Nothing has to, everything goes.
On Friday morning, we quietly wrap up. Time to pack up, have a chat and go home with your work (and your experience).
